T-shirts

checkeredfisttshirtThe guys from Checkered Fist have not delivered one of their new shirts for me yet. It is a real honour to be trusted with building the design and it is the EP cover I did for them just with a white outline added and some better text. I was surprised to find that the shirts are very hard to come by. They do not make many as they have decided to limit sales to fans at their concerts. That makes them kinda special and I will treasure it when eventually I get it

I bought some shirts and a hoody (Pittsburgh Pirates) over the internet from Football Fanatics in the USA (Jacksonville) I was a bit annoyed to read on the sale docket that they had charged me $29 for the postage when the site had a huge sign saying that they would deliver to Australia for $20. It took over a month for the parcel to arrive and I was interested to see it had come via New Zealand. The time was not a concern except that the price for postage was so high and I have had similar items from the US arrive in four business days.

I bought two t-shirts because they were on special for a few bucks and I fugured that they should be able to ship them with the hoodie for no extra charge. Silly me! One t-shirt was the wrong color and the other was not the size on the label or a very small sizing. I have not that problem with American clothes before.

The printing and quality of the items was as high as I have ever seen and as I have worked as a quality controller for a print company long ago I can judge. They were great. The quality of the sewing and the materials were equally high.

I contacted the company by email and they made an offer. $10 credit, and a they will absorb the $5 they think the postage will cost when they return the replacements to me. This is feeling a bit like a disaster and being as ill as I have been I have not been down to mail the shirts off in case I have to deal with anything else I had not expected. The postage will be another twenty bucks for the return and I suspect things will change when they actually read the address again and realize Australia is not on Fedex standard rates in the same way as Washington and Alabama
