Boxes from Coles Supermarket

Boxes from Coles Supermarket

Almost everything that is not nailed down is going into boxes now. Among real estate agents are those that have proven so dishonest and unpredictable that it seems there is little to gain by unpacking. That sounds melodramatic but of course the situation is different when a person is handicapped and unpacking is a huge effort that can take years to get right. According to some of the people who have been talking to me lately it is not just handicapped like myself who see little to gain by fully unpacking.

One of the big things I resent about all of this (and there are shiploads of things) is that now all of my research books and memory aids will be unavailable so it will be even more difficult to get through artworks. I have not figured out how I will pack and still leave enough art supplies around to get any work done. I tend to work across a range of different media all at once. It kept me from getting too locked up. Of course all of my efforts this year has gone into fighting the Ray White agents so almost nothing has been done.

The agents turned up in front of the cameras and were making noises as though they had come to assist me with something. We are here to help you with issues they said as I almost gagged.

I could think of nothing to say. Nothing had changed in that house for most of the seven years. Every issue I could think of had been discussed and then long forgotten. They photographed some things as though they had found something to add to their little list of petty grievances. I wonder if they knew that the owner had been here for several days last year and there was nothing he had not seen or discussed. One would think I might be about to be ambushed because the owner certainly did not write anything down. Everything that might be a problem has been photographed by me and discussed with members of various community services.

One of them was excited by the state of the bathroom sink and it’s drawers. He should have known the state of the paste-board cabinet was down to the fact that Dennis had rebuilt the showers without any curtain railings or screens so the water splashed all over the room. I have already written extensively about this and the fact that he was going to replace it. I had offered to grab a cheap one from Bunning’s that suited the room and pay for a mixer tap I liked as well. Dennis didn’t finish anything though

Wendy actually asked why I didn’t have screens up as though I might have had them hovering in space.

Wendy noticed the big cast iron head on the wall above the second bedroom door. It has been there seven years since about five minutes after I moved in. Every inspection it has been in plain sight and it was up there when Dennis was here. I think he liked it. It is only on the wall using an old picture hook. I had permission to put it there many owners ago just like the shade cloth around the back.

One of the big issues that started the whole attack against me as well as the termination was the fact that I would not let them wander around the house with cameras photographing my stuff as they pleased. The reason for this inspection was the estate agents showing me they could enforce their will no matter what I wanted.

My way of dealing with them this time. Everything was covered. I do mean everything!

Giant sheets of shade-cloth covered the desks and the big paintings and the huge planks. Blue plastic and black plastic sheets covered the work areas along with a ton or so of boxed goodies. The big items in other rooms were covered with sheets and duna covers and towels. The paintings were covered with black plastic garbage bags and wrapped with white rope. All that was left was some of the workings I had not had time to cover from setting up the micro-cams and a couple of works on paper.

They wanted to show me their power. They could walk through here as they wanted and they wanted me to know I couldn’t stop them.
