Free drawing

It is not the kind of drawing that gets a title. In this case free association drawings are worked without a plan. There are no reference materials to give correct proportions. A line that starts as a branch of a tree can become anything. The idea is to redevelop mark making skills with this kind of graphic pen. The little marks that give a few lines definition such as the ones in the feathers. I should have made the image larger I think. Hmm let see if I can find a way.  That is better!

It is not about making a drawing that can stand alone it is about practising the building blocks and stimulating a memory that spent several decades drawing from scratch but is far out of practice after all that illness. As the memory finds all the old marks and gets back in touch with the language it used to use to make images the images become more powerful and richer and attractive. This one is a long way from finished. The text will be filled with something like a fern-based paisley and there are a lot of marks and texture to build right through the work. It was stopped now because my hands have forgotten how to work for very long and they cramped up. There are blistered fingers as well.  I love working in this mediuml.

It was a frustrating day. A lot of it was spent studying the help folders in the video editing software. I just cannot synchronise the information about snipping and adding the visual data with the information about the audio. I am very tired and things are getting tougher. I find myself staggering a lot and my hands shake when I hold a mug or anything like that.

There has never been a need to work with video files in this way before. It will click soon enough.

The little Hewlett Packard 2050 all-in-one deskjet has started to fail. Every second sheet of paper jams now and has to be ripped free of the feed. It was new in February or March. I cannot remember. I will have to track down the warranty.

I don’t know. Confusion comes and goes
