Graphic pen pelican. It was going to be worked up as a logo should the studio ever get turned into a business

Last Thursday there was another visit to Wyong Hospital to get a Doppler Ultrasound scan on the damage in my neck. The scan went well but the day went very badly. The hospital had called me up and been very careful to give me directions over the phone weeks prior to the event. My memory collapsed on the day. Nothing I could do would trawl up any more information apart from the fact that I had been told where to go. On the sheet of paper the community helper was using for directions was the name Wyong Medical Imaging. Nobody knew where that was. We had arrived over half an hour early and wandered the community services and medical businesses over by the hospital until we were both very sore and irritated. I just kept thinking that something had been said about the hospital so first we drove around the buildings and could find no signs relevant and finally I suggested we go in. I was sure the hospital had been mentioned. It seems that the name Wyong Medical Imaging may be something the hospital imaging section calls itself and perhaps unofficially.

I remember the hospital calling and giving the address and putting the phone down and turning to look for a place to write the information and then what the memory tells me is that my big stupid old brain went ‘click‘ and was side-tracked to a computer game. I still have a memory and the parts of it that work, work well. There is just no way to be sure which bit will be working when it is needed. Eventually the stress and pain of the last few months show themselves by a slow deterioration in mental capabilities. I know this to be so as it has happened several times now.

Lurching around with my big limping walk really hurt the back and neck again and of course all the other things that are busted up in my nether regions were excruciating. That is normal for a big day out and the entireĀ  evening after such a day is just battles to stand the pain. There has been quite a large down turn in pain levels from those spine injuries. As long as I am absolutely disciplined in getting the head and neck exactly supported by pillows and spending lots of time in bed the pain is bearable and does not explode into the merciless hell it became the other day.

A few chores still get done. New mushrooms found growing in the yard are photographed. The great mass of windfall branches from the wind storms last week are cleaned up and put in a pile off the lawn. A few clothes have been washed although they are not getting dry and today’s undies had to be dried out with a little hand hair-dryer
