Mick Keelty and Sydney Air Terminal

After twenty bikers beat a man to death at the Sydney Air Terminal Mick Keelty is looking at the intelligence to see if there should have been a better reaction by the on-site security. He claims that the response from his police was as good as the response you could get anywhere in Australia. I agree. It was very similar to the kind of response you might expect at a pub in the Simpson Desert although how that would reassure anybody is not obvious.

He seems to be projecting the possibility that the people at the airport cannot expect airport security to stop twenty people beating someone to death in plain sight without some advance warning.

Mick, old mate, one place in the world we expect to have armed men run to protect us at the slightest hint of a battle is at the airport. You have used every weasel word and term and twist of phrase you can think of to try and cover up your incompetence on this one but your muddy petticoat is showing and you have been criminally incompetent as far I can see from here when it comes to airport security. Nobody who knows about those bikies will ever feel that you can protect them from a group of grannies on a Sunday outing let alone determined terrorists

I cannot speak for anyone else but as an Australian your security at our largest airport is embarrassing to me.
