FoxFoto Close-up and Macro Lens Set Review Fuji s5800

The macro setting on my Fujifilm FinePix S5800 was being pushed as hard as it could be pushed and despite being an foxfoto-lens-testexcellent camera for the purpose I felt I needed a little more depth and power if I could find anything.

Looking all over the internet I discovered the FoxFoto set of lenses. I was not sure if I should risk buying them. This set was less than thirty dollars but I have a miniscule income and still need to think very carefully before making outlays.

I Googled madly trying to find a decent review. There did not seem to more than people asking about macro lenses for larger cameras with removable lens sets or people asking aboutĀ  finding extension lenses but only receiving replies from others making guesses as to what a set would do.

I am only concerned with the Macro at this stage and as you can see from the picture it makes a difference. It makes even more of a difference than the pictures show because I cropped the upper one to get rid of the clutter.

The photographs I have taken with the macro have been clear and there even seems to be an increased ability to get better depth of field as well.

The lens addition does limit the range you can take macro photographs from and you do need to remove it to change from normalĀ  focus or standard macro. I use it in super-macro only.

I have not tested it more than that yet but right there it fulfils its purpose and is value for money.

The lenses come in a small case with pockets and which you roll up and close with velcro. Each lens is in a small plastic packet. I don’t feel that is adequate protection and find the roll annoying to handle. The lens I use travels in a pocket on the camera bag.

The camera has a 46mm thread on it and these lenses are 52mm but come with an adapter ring which seems to present no problems to the camera. I carry the macro lens wity the adapter attached.

In this case there was an added -xtra of a tiny tripod. I can’t see a use for it so it has yet to find space in my camera bag.
