Holler as loud as you like

Three attempts to get a quote and order a pair of batteries for the mobility scooter have been fruitless. The first time was my own fault. I went and rode the scooter to the Marshal store at Long Jetty and d8id not have all the details of the batteries I needed. The guy I spoke to that day knew his stuff and I left feeling confident that there would be no problem when I ordered. One or two weeks back after the machine had become somewhat limited its range by the failing batteries I rang the Marshall 1300 number and tried to order them. The guy on the line was  a new guy and didn’t know what to do with me. He took the information and agreed to ring back with a quote. Not a delivery. A quote. I was sitting there with the cash in my hand and couldn’t get anyone to sell me anything. He never range me back. The community worker took me down there on Monday of this week to put in an order and the guy I was talking to had hearing problems. I kept telling 12 volt sixt amp/hour and he looked frantically about for sixteen volt in a configuration he had on the floor. When I mentioned sealed gel batteries his brain stopped and he refused to do anything but write my details down and give me a phone quote when he had it. I riffled the notes under under his nose and told him the first guy had given me the range of prices and I was ready to buy. Nope, nothing! As I left I saw him through the window talking on the phone. It was a little relief to see that he was making the effort but I was assuming that was what was going on and he never rang me with the quote or the order or the time of day despite me writing it all down.

The computer has chewed up the hard drive and is with the computer repaier from Wamberal or somewhere having a new one installed and Windows reloaded. I did make a big attempt back up the data before I started the change of processors and although I am sick with worry about it I can hope it just needs to be returned to the drive. There are weeks of effort to rebuild all of the software ans some of the licenses are tricky to use with rebuilt drives as they think it is a new machine and there is only a single use allowed.

I am still working on the broken netbook and my eyes are so bad I cannot see to edit the post. The keybord of the netbook failed and the latex keyboard that I started to use was useless. This one is a wireless one that was bought from Dick Smith to give me a machine way back on the road and in the refuges. I will have to wit to edit, sorry bad editing annoys me as well.

Last night I walked out the door to catch a young burglar setting up to break into one of the elderly tenant’s cars. I almost tripped over him and spent a delightful ten minutes or so as he told me stories about being chased into the apartments, then his father lived here and he wanted me to call his dad. I did call and there was no way the number I called was a local one. It had a female of very young years on the answering service and he didn’t know that when I asked. After a pleasant romp through his range of stories he decided I was not really falling for it and left. I might have fallen for it but he was so stoned on amphetamine and whatever he told several different stories over the top of one another in a rush to convince me. Interestingly the girl they busted breaking into this apartment told the same range of stories except her family member living in some apartment was her mother and equally they were estranged enough so the mum had not told her where that apartment was. She pointed a corner of the block and said it was there. That part of the block is all elderly men although I have been in a block of flats where on of the elderly men was one of the first women to have the sex change operation. Peter someone.

While the computer was in the hands of the guy I changed the main room about and won back some floor space. This carpet is really nasty. Wherever something had been kept from the vacuum cleaner there was a pad of released carpet fibre. It bleeds from the carpet and becomes aerial dust of acrylic fibre and collects in my lungs and computer. These era of cheap carpet is a big part of what constitutes sick house syndrome.
